I just bought an 08 yukon denali with 135k miles for $8300. It was a one owner and had all the maintenance records. The only issues are the airbag light and the service suspension light. The old lady told me the airbag light is just a sensor and the service suspension is the air ride but she never hauled a trailer so she said she didn’t fix it. I love the fact that it doesn’t have AFM, which is probably why I jumped on it. Also the transmission was replaced at 130k with a price tag of $3100. I am so pumped as this is a second vehicle for me but I need to know what to look out for

I own an 02 so don't have all the knowledge of some here with the newer rigs. I thought that all the 07's and newer had AFM. To me, this sounds like a great deal but it all depends on the area you are in. If you are in the rust belt and there is rust on it, I cringe. Here in the PNW we have no rust issues. Post up some pics asap.

Sounds like a fair deal. As long as you're happy--plus it's a 1 owner WITH all maintenance records. Can't beat that. What state are you in? X2 on some pics.

My 07 doesn’t have AFM I think it started in 09 or 10. I always wonder why someone says “it’s just a sensor” or a 10 cent washer or whatever and don’t fix it if it’s so simple. My 07 has about the same mileage so suspension parts need doing, check the battery and grounds, change trx case and diff fluids and go. The local value of mine is around $8k so you did well. It’s a great rig.

One owner with all maintenance records is definitely hard to find. Plus the transmission was replaced at 130K miles. I would say you got a great deal.

Keep the oil changed every 5K miles with AC Delco or Mobil 1 and you should be good for a long time. Just IMHO.

sounds about right price. unless you have records then it's time to flush everything liquid: coolant, brake fluid, power steering, differentials, transfer case (if equipped), heater hoses & "T"s, belts, plugs & wires. and check the wheel hubs for play, look for leaks. basic stuff. those suspension parts you can get oem at rockauto for a decent price much less than what the dealer will want.

Sounds like a pretty good deal. 135k in a 2008 isn’t a ton of miles and of you’re happy with the truck than that’s what matters! Like the others have said above maybe time for some preventive maintenance. The suspension issue can be handled for less than what a dealer wants for new OEM parts. You have two options. Convert to non air ride shocks and swap out the rear coil springs to match the shocks and then wire resistors in place of the electrical auto ride connectors on the shocks to fool the computer so it doesn’t give you the service suspension error. Or you can get arnott air shocks to replace the OEM shocks, they make both passive shocks and electronically dampened shocks that match the factory auto ride system. Both retain factory auto level function. Arnott makes a great product. I have the passive arnott air shocks on my 2006 and have been thoroughly happy with them. The passive shocks are a little cheaper than the electronically dampened ones but either product is a good way to go to replace the blown factory setup. Or you can look at other air ride shock options from rock auto.com. Rock auto is an excellent source for parts. I use it all the time. And they’re a supporting vendor here on TYF so there’s usually a member discount code posted.

Welcome to the Forum from NH. You purchased your truck much cheaper than I purchased my 07 two years ago.

My suspension was modified to remove the auto adjustable air ride, and I'm very happy with it.

Hopefully, you will become a participating member in the Forum's discussions.

When it comes time for mods, folks here love to help you spend your money. :)

Same when I got my 02. One owner and all work done 1/2 mile away at the Chevy dealer and I was supplied all maintenance and repair records. Plus it only had 148K if I remember right. The big plus was absolutely no rust.
