had issues with a dead battery and also it would not hold a recharge. It would drop a volt in 24hrs. My friend told me that any battery can be saved and I should drain it to about 10v and then recharge as high as I could get it, about 13+ V or so. Then see if the drop in volts is as quick. First recharge it was noticeable that it helped, and after two more drains and charges, I am at 12.85v after 24hrs and it only dropped .03v.

I bought a Solar brand battery tester, I can adjust the CCA. I can get about 500 CCA out of it. The battery is labeled for 770 CCA.

Anyone with experience with this method to save their battery?

unknown at this time.
never drain your battery on purpose like that. it will just cause more harm. while it may hold volts again the storage capacity as it were will get smaller.
