Well, What I thought was going to be a 30 minute job, turned into a 3 hour knucklebuster.
7 of the plugs actually weren't bad at all, but that damn back passenger side plug sure left some marks on me.
Turns out the old plugs were in GREAT shape, but I wanted that piece of mind knowing what was in there and when they were put in. Plus i'll be doing a BB tune here shortly. Ran some seafoam through my tank as well. I wasn't having any problems, but I like being pro-active when it comes to maintenance rather than reactive.

Proactive with these trucks is always better, will save alot of money.
I did Seafoam this week too, but will not change plugs/wires till atleast 35k miles which wont be for atleast March 2011.

i hear ya, and agree.
I bought my baby with 70k on her.
Just being told there was a recent oil change/tune up isn't good enough for me I guess ya know?
Had I bought her brand new, or with only 10k on it.. I would have waited on the plugs.
Oh btw, this is the FIRST time i've EVER spent over $100 on just plugs/wires alone! Damn iridium plugs are pricey!

How much did the wires run you? My 07 just rolled over 78K and I think its time to change those out before it bites my ass.

The wires alone were regular price. I didn't go all out on those. I got the durabrand or duralast (whichever they are called from autozone) for $34.99
They actually had some iridium plugs there for $49.99/pair... That's right, per PAIR! I would never use those. $8.00/ea was enough for me!

Plugs and wires should last you well over 100K on these trucks. I do recommend you get some dielectric grease and put it on the wires though. Makes it a lot easier to remove them later.

Good to know. I have just under 60 on mine and was thinking of pulling a plug to see how they looked.

It's kind of amazing how long plugs last since the advent of unleaded gas. About the only thing that goes bad is the increase in gap over time due to erosion.

Personal recommendation for all you guys doing the tune ups at 100k, buy wires before you leave the store unless you want to make a run back after you break one or more off.

I destroyed the last plug wire on my 2000 silverado... The freakin last one..

Bought a set of wires, and kept the other 7 though.. Never hurts to have extra's..
