I am having issues on my 2000 Yukon Denali.
When I unlock the driver door with the key, and have the door open for maybe 10 seconds, the alarm goes off. I tried to unlock it with the buttons, but it still goes off.
The only way it won't go off when I open the doors is if I leave it unlocked.
Any idea what's going on here?

I had something like that in my 02-Tahoe I found the rear hatch lock was not sending the signal that the doors were shut so it thought it was unlocked all the time so I replaced it and all is well now

Okay thanks, do you know of a way to check if that's bad?

It works much like a toggle switch so knowing that you can take it out and use a continuity tester to check it out. In the unlatched position the circuit is open in the closed position it completes the circuit or loop telling the computer in the car the doors are shut or ready to be locked. As the vehicle ages so does the lube the factory used it is very possible you might be able to spray electrical contact cleaner in the switch and apply fresh oil or grease to get it operational again.

Alright, thanks for your help! I'll try that later today.
