My neighbor just brought home a brand new Sierra, told me that he got a really good deal on it, and wanted a vehicle "like my Yukon". I haven't asked him to move.

IMO, there is no such thing as "a really good deal" on a new vehicle. Even if I had unlimited $, not buying new.My neighbor just brought home a brand new Sierra, told me that he got a really good deal on it, and wanted a vehicle "like my Yukon". I haven't asked him to move.
ya you gotta the fine print on those things usually it is only at the selling dealer, but may apply else where if it left you standed out of town, just depends on the fine print. My 2018 Sierra has unlimited powertrain warranty. I thought that would be great to have. Boy was I wrong, it just means I can't change things like my own fluids ever. And I have to drive an hour to get any of the work done.
I'm on that forum too, I find if you can weed through the BS and the A-holes sometimes you can find the information you seek. There's also this site for trucks,There is https://www.silveradosierra.com/forums/ but it doesn't light a match to this forum. I come here for all of my questions and discussions, not there. I have even bought parts for my Silverado from this forum lol
That being said, you may have some luck with your 14, I got a little help with my 16 there. The key distinction I've noticed is this forum is full of active enthusiasts, not merely "owners".
Yes I have been through the fine print and it's some grey area bs. Lol, the newest truck with the least amount of miles and it has the most oil leaks.ya you gotta the fine print on those things usually it is only at the selling dealer, but may apply else where if it left you standed out of town, just depends on the fine print.
I did similar to my 18 did the transmission thermal bypass, b&m transmission pan, trucool 40k, put a bored out ktech throttle body on it, added a cold air inductions intake, carvin catback, blackbear tune had the shutters turned off. 4 1/2" california superlift (cst), hidden mount winch, rc front d-rings, HID upgrade, SS3 max fog's, morimoto tail lights.Having a 2014 myself I will say the things I've changed since I bought it, that have been a improvement
1.Removing the transmission thermal bypass valve.
2. A tune up it was desperately needing
3. Checked and changed the gas pedal to the updated version (this eliminated some surging and pedal lag)
4. A bored out throttle body (if you think about doing this I would recommend doing the l86 intake and bored out throttle body)
5. Running a cooler temp thermostat (temp choice is up to you, you can go down to 170° without needing a tune.)
6. An Airaid MIT (Optional) for me I like the cleaner look.
Also I removed the restriction between the fender and the air filter box.
