Per our local dealer this isn't uncommon, but it seems odd to me. Also, what's involved in re-installing to one that fell out (it was evidently laying in a cross member), and re-torquing the others? The vehicle is a 2007 Denali XL.

Part of my skepticism is a result of the fact that three weeks ago I had all four wheels (factory 20s) removed in a hotel parking lot in suburban Denver, and wonder if the thieves were up to some additional mischief.

Also, the delaer who who looked at it post-theft did an inspection and didn't notice anything. If there was a loose oil pan bolt, how likely is it that a tech would have noticed?

They are torqued, never seen one just fall out. Usually when looking over things, oil pan bolts are not something that is looked at unless noted for some odd reason.

Only thing I can think of is someone was in the pan before you bought it and some didn't get snugged or were forgotten about. The pan gasket will sometimes have a hold of the bolts as well I doubt they fell out

Never had one fall out and I doubt I would have noticed when inspecting after wheels were stolen. Reinstall the bolts and torque to spec and hire a hit man to find the wheels and get rid of the thieves.

Plus, welcome to the forum from Oregon.

We recommend that you put all your rig(s) info in your signature so we all don’t have to guess at year, make, model, engine size, trans, rear axle locker…….etc. Makes it way easier on all members that attempt to help, to have that info right up front. It is also recommended that you take a pic of your RPO codes, on the inside cover of the glove box, and post that image in your signature. All this info will greatly help those that will try to help with a problem.

If there is any other info, like upgrades, mods or recent mechanical/maintenance work done, that would be helpful in any post as well. Too many times a question is asked by the poster and after about 10 responses we find out that the poster has done recent work to attempt to fix the problem or work that was done that SEEMS not related to the problem.

Yeah, every now and again. I wasn't trying to be a wiseass at all, I actually was trying--and hoping--members would know how to tell when was the last time someone was active. No disrespect to Ron.
None here either. Ron was 3rd in line. Swat2380 did the deep digging.
