So I thought about trying to determine the overall length from the DOD roller to the tip of the pushrod, then buying custom length pushrods to match that distance with the non DOD lifters, then using those custom length pushrods on just the DOD cylinders with the new non DOD lifters.
Post #10 and #12 at the forum below make sense to me.

Generation IV Internal Engine - 5.3 DOD delete using stock cam?? - Had a 5.3 go down (bad lifter and dropped valve into cylinder) Got a replacement engine on the way. Im going to suggest deleting the DOD lifters but I know they wont go for a cam swap. This is purely for reliability. My question...

However, I do not believe that 15PSI less will cause an issue but I would not risk it for my own sanity. You, however, say you don't mind tearing back into the engine again so I say go for it. I would love to have the data. Get compression tests on all 8 cylinders after the fact and let us know if you get any check engine lights.
I actually have the dumb thought to just replace all lifters with new versions of themselves. I figure if they went 200k the first time before causing issues what's the harm in running the exact same ones for the next 200k?
