Does anyone offer a HID projector housing for the Yukon?

I've seen a couple but not in the chrome finish, I wish the Spec-D was avail in a factory chrome.

I would be fine with using a donor pair and doing some cutting if that's what's required....trying to avoid the latter.

Also, has anyone sourced a good shielded LED or HID H13 bulb? I don't want to install anything that will produce any light scattering or glare.

Open to all suggestions.

just search for headlight retrofit here on the forum there have been at least a few if not several write ups on "how to" over the years
you can buy all the parts needed and mod your own

+1 for @Doubeleive answer

Would add that I've retro fit my headlights twice now. Even found an incredible mirror finish paint for the reflector housings in my Morimotto's. This place is where I learned the ropes:

They may have a direct bolt in housing with projector for your ride? If no you can always retro one in there. Be happy to explain if you go that route?

**edit- word of caution- not all projector headlight are the same. I bought some cheap housing with projectors in them and on my first test drive, thought I was going to make a pedestrian jump off a bridge to avoid me running them over lol. I'll find pic of beam pattern from the cheaps and attach later

Either way they're very helpful, knowledgeable and sell high quality automotive lighting parts at competitive $$.

Do you have any pics?

I have a spare set of housings I'm fine with opening up and modding.

Any issues with the vertical only adjustment? I assume any projector mod will include it's own full adjustment.

my retrofit retained vertical adjustment with the stock headlight buckets.

if you want an LED fixture, there are 2 options. Alpha Rex and Morimoto make a direct replacement LED fixture.

I bought the replacement Morimoto housing with led projectors. the light output is nice, but I won't lie I factored in the price of the headlights for the look, since I liked the Tahoe front end, but the yukon came up for a good deal and I'm not really a fan of the big lights and all of them seem to be fogged up.

if you want better light output what I've done on my c6 and this yukon is the bi-led projectors and put them where the fog lights go. they have a nice cut off and real low to the ground, so they don't blind on coming traffic when adjusted right, but fill in the road nicely and then I run a diode inline from the high beam of the headlights, so that when I click on my brights the bi led fogs come on in high beam mode as well. very nice output for country roads at night. lots of throw down the road and good spread.

Oh do I.....

Pic #1 All started when I was sure I was too smart to need to remove front bumper to install some LED's, broke guide pins and side brackets on housings. Drove w/cork shims under housings til couldn't stand it anymore. Then jeffazon must've overheard me complaining, bc he sent me a $69 offer on open box Spyder Halo's w/projector. Bought them

#2 Look cool in daylight

#3 Dangerous light output and beam pattern....

#4 Retro #1= mini retro of my newish LED's into Spyder....not much better. Went to night school on options. Learned a lot, settled on The Retrofit Source out of ATL bc of cust service!

#5 Bought Morimoto H7 Bi-Xenon projectors for LOW's, relays, Profile drivers that dropped the cutoff inside projectors while boosting from 35w to 55w when HI's were activated, bought Katana 14k lumen LED HI's, and bought all else needed to retrofit Spyder Halo's with new light system and went to work

only link 5 photos? to be cont....

.....

#6 LOW projector pattern

#7 LOW ONLY when HI's were activated :D . Light output was A++++ for about 2.5yrs. But I knew I had two issues coming. Spyder's weren't rated for Xenon temps and started melting in a little blob where beam concentrated -and- Morimoto's weren't rated for the 55w Profile drivers. eventually both of those took their toll and output went down.

#8-9-10(11-12-13 next post) Retrofit the retrofits- used combination of the now 3 sets of housings I had to make the best lights yet. Flat blacked all chrome inside except inside dish of HI for 14k lumen Katana's. Bought Hikari Ultra H1 LED and found A+ chrome paint to restore burned interior of Morimoto's. Added sequential LED strip's inside housing, cut end open and wired to my blinker bulb so amber signal light traveled up then across then down housing perimeter, then flashed my actual signal bulb. Wired Hikari's into same Profile drivers with 35w/55w LOW/HI and they were brighter than Bi-Xenons ever were.

.....for about 5 weeks. Then one morning while testing my trucks lateral G capabilities last May, I had a deer run right into the bottom outside corner of my pass headlight at about 75mph and destroyed what I was so proud to have put together... Reminding me: Pride is the sign of a foolish man

#16 Uncropped version of my profile pic

#17 Uncropped version of my daytime LED strips

#18 close up of my remodeled Morimoto broken off inside housing

Insurance refused to pay for anything but stock replacements so I bought some with blacked out insides and bought some new LED's for LOW's. It's all hooked up through the same drivers etc and still super bright.....and I fixed the Mori and still have them. May put them in fog lights someday? Bigger fish to fry for now...

Let me know if you have any questions on your retrofit
