There's no dedicated "answer man" on this site, so it may take a while for you to get input. If you need one right away, go to the dealer.

Do you have an aftermarket alarm? If not, scroll through the steering wheel HUD menu
and check to make sure you have "horn" selected on alarm type. I'm not sure what exactly it says, but it's there.

On my old truck there was a plunger that when it was in the out position (or door open) the lights would come on. It got fouled, and no matter what position it was in the lights would not come on. I replaced it. I don't know for sure, but there's no plunger assembly that I can find right now because I'm parked tight in the garage and can't fully open the doors. Maybe you'll find one.

Try the steering wheel HUD for the horn... and try opening a different door and see if the courtesy lights come on. If they do, then you'll narrow it down to one specific door. If they don't then you may have an electrical wire loose or a short.

Hope this helps...

Take it easy champ. I appreciate your willingness to help other members. We can always use guys like you on this site. People on here are very cool and knowledgeable, but there aren't quite as many active members here as other sites. Consequently, it sometimes takes a little longer for an answer.

Something similar happened on my rear cargo door. (I have barn doors) Turns out the striker plate on the body side was installed upside down when my ride was being repainted and the pin on the door side was touching the wrong contact. Doubt this is your problem, but I'd check the latches. I think there might be some kind of contact in there that might send a signal regarding a door being ajar. Could be something to do with that. I don't believe that the NBS have the plungers like the older one's did, but I might be wrong.

There was a post about this a few months ago with a solution. I'll try and dig it up. It had a weird header to the thread so it might be hard to find.. Lemme see..

Is this the link you are looking for chistoso? I ran into this same problem but with my rear gate, not one of the doors. Might be a similar situation though. Also, your dome override button next to your headlight switch may be engaged to keep the lights from killing your battery since your truck thinks the door is open.
