My wife doesn't seem to care too much if she parks too close to the wall in the garage, and just noticed yesterday when washing the Tahoe that the driver's door has some small scratches/chips at the door edge where it has hit/rested on the garage wall.

Has anyone found any good door edge guards that can be put on the door edges to protect against something like this. I had some factory installed on my other car when I bought it that would do the trick.

I have a 2010 with 4k miles and would like to find a solution, as apparently her discontiuing this behavior isn't an option :)

Why not put some foam or rubber strip at the correct height on the garage wall with some double sided tape?

perfect fit

go to wal-mart.

in the isle where they sell fans / window airconditioners / foam insulation (weather stripping)

there is a product that is approx 2x2" and comes in a few foot roll. they use it for around window A/C units...

u want to attach this to the wall of the garage where the door hits with double sided tape / stickers.

however, the foam compresses when the door hits it, and pulls the edges from the wall.

take a knife and cut vertical slits about 1/2 way in the foam every 2 inches.

when the door hits the foam, it will compress / deform, without pulling the foam away from the wall :)

Wanted to post an update on my search. I ended up ordering some door edge guards from, oddly enough...www.dooredgeguards.com

They have some custom fit/cut for certain vehicles, and the Tahoe is one of them. Got them in last week, and put them on yesterday. Really nice and exactly what I was looking for. They just tap in/on with a rubber mallet, and you are good to go. Only come in stainless steel and matte black for the Tahoe...I got black which looks fine on my Gray Taupe Tahoe.

Cost me $69.75 for all 4 doors, but worth it in my opinion.
