Ease of installation and install time is going to depend on your experience and mechanical aptitude. Mounting and connecting the solenoids to the latch release rod should only take a few minutes. Then you'll need to run a set of wires through the boot and into the cab, connect it to a relay and then your activation system (alarm, remote, etc).
If you shave your handles, don't forget a backup system to get into your truck in case you lose your remote or your truck battery dies.

I have poppers, and shaved doors. I didn't do the original install, but I've replaced the core components. Did you get a kit with a brain, and a separate remote fob?

More. The idiot prior owner that did my install only tack-welded the patch plates over the holes where the door latches went. Make sure you stich weld the plates completely onto the door, otherwise it will crack. Also, don't remove the internals of the door latches. Just add the poppers, and leave the internals of the doors alone. My rear doors are hooked up to the lock/unlock button. When you hit the "lock" side of the switch, the left side, it pops the rear driver's side door. When you hit the right side of the switch, it pops the rear door.

And there's of course a popper on the tailgate, with a switch on the dash. If you have a tailgate, you can add linear actuators to open the window, and drop the tailgate pretty easily. THis is in the future for me, or i might just spring load everything to fly open. Lol. We'll see.

What kit did you get? Autoloc? I've heard good things about them, and I'm about to replace a bad solenoid, but haven't bought one yet. Installing the poppers and solenoids isn't the hard part- it's the wiring, and all of the solenoids. Good luck!!!

Yeah, that's good. It is easy to wire to an aux output. The relay for each solenoid will have 4 terminals on it- 2 for the signal, and 2 for the power. When the signal wire from the switch goes hot, it allows the power wire to go hot, with much more current to your solenoids. So all you have to do is slpice into the signal wire, and hook that up to an Aux output on your alarm. Too easy. Getting behind your dash, or wherever your alarm is installed is on you... :)
