So I tried to get out of my denali today and i couldnt.... the drivers front door wouldnt open, there was no resistance on the interior door handle and i had to crawl around back to get out... when im outside and i stick the key in the door lock and fiddle around with it, it will be normal for a little while then happen again until i do the key thing again... i figure its probably normal for a $65k truck..... NOT!! wtf, any ideas?

i dunno-- it sounds strange but go back and try resetting vehicle defaults-- maybe one got erroneously changed and maybe a button got hit which changed the setting which you may have inadvertently done--- use those button to the left of the nav and rest default-- i bet that helps.\

Okay went out and was able to get the panel off enough without the door open to access the situation. The cable going to the interior handle was intact and connected, the rod going to the exterior handle was intact and connected, both operated normal. Took a look at the key switch and that rod also was intact and connect as was the doorlock rod that goes up and down at the rear of the panel. Here is what I found, the doorlock(up and down thingamajig) was working, but needed to be pulled up just a hair higher and then the door opened...this would go along with how you messed with the key switch and eventually got it to work...if you do go out there or when it happens again, try to lift that doorlock higher and see if it then opens the door...I am very interested now.

This happened to me on my 2008 tahoe twice to the front passenger door & once to the drivers door and the dealership had to replace the stricker on both doors.

Is this a safety recall?! this is a pretty serious issue! what if I had to get out of my car in a rush... say it was on fire! Id be screwed... its pretty embarrassing when I get to my office and have to crawl around and get out of the back seat, not gonna lie. Anyways, I havent had the problem in a day or two, but ill check that next time.
