Doors locking by turning on ignition

My Hoe is acting weird lately. As soon as i turn the key to on position, the doors will lock and unlock as soon I turn the truck off. It used to lock in drive and unlock in park. Does anybody know how to fix this, it's starting to really bug me.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be that way. As soon as I fire it up, all of my doors lock. As soon as I shut it off my doors unlock.

Ya but he mentioned that it didn't use to do that. IIRC, he was in an accident recently. Did Insurance replace any electrical componats, like a PCM or anything?

I ask because some of these trucks electrical behaviour can be reprogrammed by removing the programming fuse and cycling the IGN and listening to the door chime beeps. BTW, you'll have to reinstall your door buzzer for this if it has been removed

I turned off the door lock/unlock behaviour when I first got my Kon. Of coarse I forget the exact procedure now. But the things that can be reprogrammed are in the manual along with the instructions. If your manual is missing, I can go look at mine and see what it says about turning that off again.

If I remember, the door locks can be reprogrammed for, no activity(manual), lock with key turns on, lock at speed(20mph?). I forget the details. I'm old ya know!

Then I would guess that he had an alternative setting (maybe with alarm install??) and then was reverted back to stock after repairs were made following his collision. Personally, my truck has done the same thing since it was brand new (ignite - doors lock ; shut off - doors unlock)

I appear to be rememembering my wife Jimmy! Not my Yukon! I checked my owner's manual and couldn't find the reference to programming the BCM. I did find it in my wife's 98 Jimmy though. Then I did a google search, and found no reference to programming an OBS BCM. NBS, and NNBS - yes, OBS - no.

On our trucks the BCM is located under the dash by the parking brake pedal? So I would imagine that unit was posibly replaced after his accident?

I will keep looking to see how it is programmed. It must be programmed somehow, my truck's door locks are in manual mode.

BTW, so far it looks like you need a tech II scanner to program the BCM which controls door lock behavior. Now I'm looking for a cheaper tool that can do that.

Ha! I knew that our trucks had a BCM! It took a long time to confirm it though.

Still need a way to program it. There is some behaviour that I'd like to change.

What I got from this, is yes, our trucks have one, it's located inside the center console, and it's a b*tch to program.

Can anyone confirm if they have found anything like that in their center console?
