Double sided tape size?

I need to replace the tape on my 07 yukons door trim and was wondering if anybody knew what size tape it needs?

As in the width of the tape? I don't think it really matters. Just run some at the top and the bottom of the molding, and you're good to go.

Given the option, look for some 1/4" wide tape...

What type of 3M tape do you all use and does anyone have a part number?

Also, what is the best time or day or optimum temp at which to apply new mouldings?

Lastly, any prep to the paint like wax removers etc. before applying the mouldings with adhesive tape?

1. I don't know that there's a part number, but you're looking for gray 3M double sided tape.

2. I'd do it when it's warm out. 75° or warmer is probably good.

3. Dawn dishwashing detergent removed any wax products. I would wash (with Dawn) and clay bar the area first. Wiping some alcohol along the area first would also ensure that there is no residue that would keep the tape from sticking its best.

3m part # 06376 ( 1/4 in.) and # 06384 ( 1/2 in. ) i got my from car quest . any auto parts store should have it.
