Not sure if anyone else around looks through Garage Journal forum or something similar. This is a thread to share the ones I have enjoyed and for others to share the ones they have enjoyed. I have found some ideas for my current garage and, hopefully, future garage as well as drooled and dreamed over others.

I joined that forum a few years ago when I was planning my shop build. I got some good info for insulating it and even had a member call and talk to me about it for a while. I may have even started a build thread. Went through a divorce soon after the building was sheeted and never had the time to keep up on the threads or anything since. Lemme see if I can recall my login info...

Even without it they are good to look through. Some are very long and, if you read them, will take weeks to get through or you can be like @07Burb and just look at the pics (same as if you gave him a book).

:signs8:

I actually guessed my login and password on my first try. I'm so damned predictable.

"You last visited: 09-12-2014 at 09:09 PM" Hmmm... Shit went down with my now ex-wife that night. I was discussing garage door operators and hooking external lights to them.

Anyway, not to get off track. I'm gonna go gawk at those garages in your links for ideas of what I SHOULD have done.

Cool thread.

I'm not so sure I need a house-sized garage, but I would like to have a garage that is larger than just big enough to accommodate parking two cars plus 3 ft in front of the vehicles and enough room to swing-open the vehicle doors. Right now, I have no place to put a workbench if I want to actually use it with cars parked in there, and they always are. Just maybe 3 ft more in depth alone would change my world.

And to think, I had the chance to order my house with a 3-ft garage bump out but but decided against it in order to save a thousand bucks or so. LOL

there is a guy on there, i forget his name. He built like a 100' x 180' building, then built his house inside it, and still had a huge shop shape. I think he was in texas. There are some really impressive builds, along with some good ideas for those without Queen Latifah money.
