I Got a 1996 GMC Yukon 2 door running a 6 inch rough country suspension set up on her, with 35 inch toyo tires, the other day i took the truck to get tie rods put on it and my mechanic had the truck on the lift and noticed the rear drive shaft was only in the transfer case but maybe an inch or less and when he put the truck back down it didnt go back in much, so i got to looking at it and can see the constant wear before it was lifted and can see the after effect (its more shiny) so my question is has anyone found a cheap way to repair this without paying 500+ for a new drive shaft? maybe pulling one from an extended bed truck or something? Open to any suggestions and wondering if anyone else is having this problem

Take it to a driveline shop and get it lengthened. Should be under $150. Ask me how I know this.

I also do now run a Tom Woods CV shaft in the rear. But regardless, it can be lengthened
