Okay installed the McGaughys 2/3 kit on 04 Tahoe. Riding on 305/40/22 & stock shocks front Nivomats in Rear.

I've onley drove a short distance on a a back road and the ride is a little rougher than I expected.

(1) Should I swap the front shocks to Billsteins? I'm keeping Nivomats in the rear.

(2) do I need to cut the bump stops front and rear?

(3) DO I need to adjust the stock torsion keys to even out front & lower the front a little more? (I read on another site decrease torsion tension will help smooth out ride) Is this true????

Street to center of wheel well lip.
Stock Height Before: Front 36 1/2" Rear 37 1/4"

My advice would be to cut the bumpstops and adjust the torsion bars a little. If you are happy with the height then leave the torsions alone and just get the side to side level. Turning the torsions down effectively lowers the "spring rate" so they become softer. I've done that with mine and it feels too wallowy or mushy (technical term here, lol) for me.

Cut the bump stops how much and are we talking the rear bump stops only or all around? I might play with the torsion bars a lil before I get alignment. It is pulling to the left.
I like the way it's looking But may want it slightly lower in front.

Both front and rear. My fronts are completely removed. Probably not the smartest move, but I get plenty of travel and it doesn't bang like the rear would.

mcgaughys rear springs do ride ruff. I would look into just swapping out shocks see if you like that better.

And there's always the free travel mod for the rear. Not sure you'd need it with that drop but if u ever hit, it's a great idea!

When I lowered mine I liked it but thought more would be sicker! Haha who dont like low!

I was just looking at your measurements. I think consistency is the benefit of using spindles to drop the front. I'm at 32 1/4 in the front and 34 1/4 in the rear of mine with drop keys and rear coils.

Alex are you also running 2/3 MCG kit? If so are you rolling on Nivomats in the rear?
I turned torsion keys 2 turns on passanger side and 1 1/2 on driver side. I saw no initial movement. Have not checked height after driving it around. It did not seem as rough. I think the kit just need to settle. I love the way it handles and takes turn now. Plus the look. Been getting compliments.. I still need to get under there and cut the rear bump stops to see if there is a difference.

I'm running the McG 2/3 kit. No nivomats. Mine has the autoride suspension. When I first lowered the truck I felt the same way you do. It was a big difference over a stock suspension truck. I don't know about my torsion bolts though. I didn't measure them when I removed them (stooopid :Stupid Me:) so I don't know where they were before the key swap. Trimming the rear bump stops should make things a little smoother.

I think you should drop the front another inch or so and it'll look perfect.
