The dealer told me you have to drop the tank to replace the rear brake line that runs from the front to the rear. I got inline tube ss lines that are oem bent. Is this true? I have a 99 obs 4dr 4wd.

they might be right, Im trying to remember if there is enough room to slide the line out but I think there is not . Its probably easier but you shouldn't have to drop the tank to the ground just disconnect the filler neck and support brackets and you should have enough slack to slide the tank over 4-5 inches without having to disconnect the harness or remove the drive shaft

Does anyone know for sure? Thanks for the help but I'm trying to avoid moving the tank if I can. My fuel lines are in bad shape and I can't afford everything at once...lol

Well, it's impossible to get the line in without moving the tank. I'm not ready to do my fuel lines yet, so I just ran a line over the tank and around it near the frame. That should get me by until next year when I replace all the rusty lines and the fuel pump, (pump is getting loud). Thanks everyone! Next year I'm ripping out everything!
