I am sure this is a beat up topic, but what Oil do most of you prefer to use. I have an 03 with 140K and need it to last me close to 200K at least. I do regular maintenance, but its always nice to see what other people are using. I normally roll with Rotella or Aimsoil, and a Wix filter. I am thinking of doing a secondary oil filter to help with the cleaning if anyone thinks it will really matter.

I bought my yukon when it was two years old with 22k miles. The first oil change i switched to royal purple and either wix or royal purple filters. I`m at 98,*** now and it doesn`t lose a drop of oil between changes and i change it every 6k miles.

I have never heard of any results on doubling up on filters but i guess it couldn`t hurt but if you use good filters it`s probably not needed.

Had good luck with mobil-1. Autozone dicounted all their 0w-30 mobil-1 to $2 a quart a while back, I bought like 60 quarts lol. And I'm trying out the wix xp filters. Usually used regular wix or mobil filters. At 135k and doesnt use any with 5k intervals.
Never heard of two oil filters on gas engines, but I do run the taller Wix 51522/51522XP.

My 04 5.3 by the book calls for a wix 51042/ac pf46. I run the taller wix 51522/ac pf61, that was spec'ed for the earlier model years. They are identical except the one is taller/more capacity. XP is Wix's new line of synthetic oil filters.
