I recently purchased a 2004 Yukon XL with the factory installed DVD player. The video works fine, but I can not get the audio to play through the vehicle speakers, nor through wired headphones plugged into the back. I have followed all instructions in the user manual, but the "dvd icon" does not display at all on the main unit. all that comes up is a little headphone icon while a dvd is playing. Pressing souce on the rear console only cycles through am/fm/cd. Any suggestions?

The audio does not work in DVD mode only, or does the audio not work on any source?

Only for the DVD player. CD player and radio work just fine.

you need to get the headunit to say RSE ... don't think it is on the band button ... look for another one ... I'm not by the wifes yukon otherwise i would tell you for sure. I think it is teh AUX button if you have one.

I've pressed the CD/Aux button and nothing happens. Band just cycles am/fm 1/fm 2. I have tried all buttons I can find. I don't have the wireless hadphones, so how can I get the headphone icon on the main unit to go away?

go in the back and see if there is a button for who controls the audio (main headunit or backseat). I think I remember this in my 06 trailblazer ss that the headphones being on means that the backseat is set to one mode or the other.

The back unit does the same thing, only cycles through am/fm/cd.
