Just got my CD/DVD/NAV radio working in my 2013 GMC Yukon Denali. Do a search on ebay for this description:
2012-2013 CHEVY GM GMC YUKON GPS NAVIGATION CD DVD ROM DRIVE OEM MECHANISM NEW!
Cost me $75, while not exactly cheap, this is a new part and is EXACTLY what was in my unit. It was a real pain in the
ass to swap out, took me at least an hour and I've had some experience with electronics. The radio is easy to get out, take
your time and don't force any of the connectors off the back of the radio. Everything is color coded and it's quite easy to remove
and reinstall without notes.
I won't begin to give step by step directions on how to get the old unit out but your goal is to get the cover off the top of the
unit and gain access to the CD/DVD changer. There are two screws that are VERY difficult to remove. They are so far inside
the unit that it is impossible to get a normal screwdriver in there. I used a 90 degree unit forced in place with a screwdriver
as a wedge. Yeah it was real ugly.
More research might find a proper procedure on swapping out the changer. There are two rather wide ribbon cables that
you will need to remove from the player. They are both stuck to the housing with adhesive so be careful! I removed the front
face as it was fairly easy to do and I was worried about tearing the ribbon cables that connect it. Lots of short Phillips head screws
hold this thing together. Almost all of them are the same length. There are two that are much longer for some reason. Set those
aside and remember where you got them. Better yet, get a sharpie and mark the case where they go.
I'll try to answer any questions if someone else needs to do this repair. For an airline ticket, I'll even come and help!
