Anyone else having issues with their DVD player?

The problems I have:

1. Are really long start up.
2. Sometimes it says unable to read disc on start up , even if my kids were just watching it prior to truck shut off.
3. No disc, even though there is.

Sometimes it works as it should other times not so much.?? Is there a certain order or routine I can perform to ensure it always works? Also I always hear the reading the disc noise even when tvs are up noone is watching is there a way to shut off dvd system completley?

I also have a $80 DVD attached to my headrest for my youngest daughter that works perfect every time and my 70k dvd player doesn't always work? seems wrong or is this par for the course with denalis?

Thanks in advance for any insight. Zolt:

I had to buy Win X DVD Ripper Platinum to copy all my kids DVD's into 64GB SSD and it plays lot faster, plus i have an option to get rid of those annoying commercials before main movie starts, so it was a win win for $20 fix.

As far as 70K DVD player, i think all the funds went into other parts of the truck development and DVD and NAVI got allocated maybe lot less funds and attention. You'll see Navi have you driving around like crazy person while Iphone Navi gets you straight there, plus Denali Navi says "Caution Toll Booth????" yes - it says it like it is asking, funny stuff. "Keep Left" direction that is used in most Navi's substituted with "Bear Left" and it sound so funny - like there is a bear coming :).

I could go on with the funny stuff, but to answer your question - Yes DVD is shaky and improvisation is needed., hopefully they come up with some sort of software update to fix all the little things.

Thanks for response and ideas. What format and quaility do you copy and convert in to get it to play in your truck? Also seems like price is closer to $39?

I've got it when it was 19.99 could be promo pricing, got it direct from their website. Also I rip my dvd's in imovie format, but you can do it in any other format and it will still play, i've tried most of them and works fine. I chose this format because it can maintain original aspect ratio and dvd info so i can play in other medias such as ipad, laptop etc. If you're looking to copy it strickly for your truck then you might need to adjust the resolution to fit exact to the screen (some playing with it will be needed, do some short clip preview ripping first)

With Imovie format it leaves small black space around movie when you play in car but it doesn't bother me or kids.
