I am in need of a dvd system for the kids in the back. Is there one that I can hook up to the roof that is independent of the stereo system? I have the stock single CD player, no tape player system. I'm assuming that the kids will have to wear headsets to hear the movie.

Naw. I was looking into something more OEM, but it looks like I'll need some harness?

I got a unit off of amazon, it's a flip down, ceiling mount unit that is pretty close to factory match, color wise. Its made by a company called tview. And you can get ir headphones for it, but I just use the radio tuner.

i had both in the tahoe, overhead with in dash dvd player, and rear PS3 + hdtv tuner playing thru the oem stereo
and audiovox dual dvd headrest monitors using IR headsets (the side to side sharing feature was awesome)
the audiovox heads are the best ever made for a tahoe imo, b/c of the dual in headrest dvd drives. I hated how the overhead got in the way of rear visibility.
