I have a factory dvd player (panasonic) in my 07 tahoe ltz. The remote control for the dvd player does not work, I need to get a new one.
Does anyone know if there is a way to select things in a dvd menu without the remote? The only buttons I see on the nav when I have a dvd inserted are things like play, pause, forward, and reverse. There is no "select" or "ok" or "right" or "left."

I received a message from someone at GM (thanks!!) who explained that I could press the seek buttons to go up or down on the menu, and I could press and HOLD the seek buttons to go left or right. I tried to respond and ask "How do I select something" but I am not allowed to do private message until I have 10 post on the forum.
So, how do I select something in a menu once I am at the thing I want to select?

There is a way to get to the disk menu. It gives you a keypad, and you select the chapter I think. Thats all I have found so far.

Not sure if this wil work, but I made a quick video of me navigating through the menus on a dvd.

Thank you for the vid. My problem is that I need to select things on the dvd while driving. The video you posted shows you changing things while parked. I appreesh the effort though.

I hit the "cursor" button and use the arrows.

So you are talking about the rear screen? The front one isn't supposed to play video while the vehicle is in motion.

I think you have confused me.
You mean you want to select a chapter on a dvd from the front nav unit while driving?
