I have a 2007 Yukon with a 5.3 and a weak 4L60e. I've given it a band aid by putting in a shift kit because it was slipping. I know eventually I'll need to rebuild my transmission but I just don't want to stay with the 4l60.
I'm going to install a whipple in the very near future and I want to have a strong base.
In you opinion what transmission would be the easiest to install 4l80e or 6l80e? I know on both of them I will have to "massage" the tunnel, re-pin the harness, different yoke, reprogram the TCM etc..
For the 4l80 will I have any issues mating it to the 5.3? I read an article about a guy taking out his 4l60 and installing a 4l80 but he had a 6.0 pickup.
