I have been shopping for new front brakes and rotors for a while now and came across this deal, and thought I would pass it along.

I decided to go with EBC brakes and was looking around trying to find the best price I could. I came across the website below and they are currently offering a couple of discounts that beat other prices I found. They had free shipping too.

www.placeforbrakes.com/

The deals are..

10% off orders over $94.00 - Code: EBC10
12% off orders over $150.00 - Code: EBC12

They have these promotions listed on their promo page. It also said it was a limited time offer, so I am not sure how long they will be valid.

Just FYI...I purchased the EBC Ultimax Slotted Rotors and Greenstuff 7000 pads (I debated between the green and yellow for a while, and hope I made the right choice). I'll let you know how I like them once they come in.

I just purchased the greenstuff 7000 pads and had them on for about a month now. They work fantastic. Super low dust too.

EBC brakes is a great company. I bought a set of rotors for my 07 Impala SS with the red stuff pads. I don't have brake dust now and they work fantastic. Make sure your car has zero runout as I went thru a front set of rotors on a trip. EBC replaced them but it was annoying driving the car back home (about 1500 miles). GM's standard is somewhere around .006 runout. They'll have to use an on car brake lathe to fix it.

My buddy had a set of greenstuff on his E30 M3 and I had a set on my E36 M3. They were brakes. Low dust but just so-so. For his application I think the pads were too hard because he had them for 6 years before replacing them out of boredom. lol

In autocross racing you actually want a softer pad so you get a little more bite when cold. This is also true when driving on the street since you rarely get pads hot street driving. For this reason I may shy away from Greenstuff but I'm sure a Tahoe compound is very different than a BMW compound. I've heard awesome things about Yellowstuff but they may be too agressive for a truck street compound. They may chew up the rotors, wear quickly, and/or dust/squeal.

I got my Tahoe at 49k miles and the front rotors appear to be in great shape but I think the pads are almost gone. Are the stock front brake pads known for being soft? I may just get a new set of pads and call it a day...although I almost never get new pads without new rotors.

I'm going to be towing so I'm leaning towards a set of Hawk LTS pads up front.
