Hey guys, i did the impossible trying to solve my p0300 misfiring code. i've changed spark plugs and got the New Bosch fusion IR for 20$ a piece. changed wires, sea-foamed,cleaned MAF, throttle body, checked coils, and nothing seemed to fix the problem. im thinking it could be either the EGR valve is dirty or a clogged cat maybe. what is the best way to clean an EGR valve ? would a throttle body cleaner work or do i need something else ? asking your help just to be on the safe side.

id go with either brake cleaner or throttle body cleaner.. just make sure u let it dry and air out completely before re-installing the egr valve..... and make sure the gasket is still good or o-ring.. not sure what these have...

Clear the codes, disconnect the cats at the header flange and run the truck for a bit, check the codes. It's gunna be loouud.

No other pending codes? Might be a fuel pressure issue.

cleaned the EGR valve and tried to adjust the FPR. cant get higher than 40 PSI at idle. its supposed to be 56.6-58 PSI. im thinking its a fuel pump thats about to go bad ? any thoughts ?

ducktape. . .

haha kidding. might as well go ahead and replace the fuel pump before it quits on you when you really need it. better off knowing you got a new fuel pump than guessing when the one you got is going to go out.

lol. it turns out it was a bad fuel pressure regulator. i swapped it under warranty and adjusted the pressure to 58PSI as justin from BB recommended. the truck still misfires on cylinders 1 3 5 and 7. 5 misfires the most. i cant think of anything else but a clogged cat. what do u guys think ? any of you running magna flow cats or flowmasters ?
