I noticed a few days ago I was driving and all of the sudden all the electrical stuff in the car, ie. stereo, gauges, etc., just shut off and turned back on again, but the car kept running. It was just like when you first put the key in and started it up, as far as the gauges and stereo go. The a day later I noticed it was a bit hesitant to start and has been. It cranks fine, but as soon as it starts, the rpm's drop and wants to die again, especially once you put it into gear. Most recently I replaced the starter solenoid and thats about it. Is there a wire shorting out or is it some kind of power relay, or pcm????? Any ideas would greatly help. This friday I will be doing the big three upgrade so will check to see if any of the coating on the wires has perhaps exposed wires causing it to short out. Thanks

might wanna try the right section, not to be mean but they might have a bit more info on what your looking for. Though it could be your alternator, as in a previous car this happened but the car died all together. try that and see what happens

Good, do the big three. your truck will love you for it. If you don't have any shorts, it smells a little like your ignition switch, but that's just a guess from yours truly. Good luck with that!!!

I had that same problem 3 months ago. It ended up being my battery connector on the + side. It didnt look bad but I figured it out when it dies the last time. The connector had melted the side off.
