2006 Escalade here, around 80k miles. I had a strange issue several months ago, whereby the windshield wipers on intermittent, caused the LCD display in the mirror to lose power, which I documented here:

http://tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=65147

About 2 weeks ago, I was driving and encountered erratic behavior out of the navigation radio. The display started flickering on and off, and the buttons were completely nonresponsive (I had it on the CD changer, when I pressed the radio button, nothing happened). The volume was erratic too.. I could turn it up or down, but when I had the volume almost all the way down, it would get loud for half a second. Finally I turned the volume all the way down and it never made a peep, but the display was still messed up. I stopped and turned the key all the way off and back on. There was no change, still nothing on the display and no response from the controls. So I turned it off and ate some lunch. Came back to it 30 minutes later and the radio did start up like it normally does, controls were responsive etc. until about a minute later when it started doing the same thing - display flickering/off, and controls unresponsive. The next day, and for every day since, the radio has been acting normal.

The connection between the first incident and the second, was that it had been raining and humid on both days. Not that it was actively raining, but it had been raining and stopped, then got humid as Florida is known to do. Are there any known leaks/issues with humidity/etc on these trucks? Could I have something wrong with the BCM, or is the radio incident pretty much guaranteed to be isolated to the nav radio only? What are some of the more common "electrical gremlin" issues that people face with these trucks?

Thx

I've had maybe 3 or 4 times since I bought the truck new in 06 that I've got service messages on my DIC. Nothing wonky with stereo, mirrors, etc, but the message comes and goes. Seemed to always be in wet weather. Have no idea why other than the moisture is shorting something out.
