Hello I just bought a 2004 chevy 5.3 Tahoe flex fuel. I am having trouble with electrical problems. I had the car for about a week and If I do not turn it on everyday the battery will die. When I purchased the car I failed to notice that the fuse box wiring was disconnected from the battery terminal. Once I connected the fuse box wiring the car seemed to kill the battery. I had the battery checked twice from two different place and they says the battery is good. The other thing that worries me is that the radio works one day and may not work the next. If there are any suggestions I would really appreciate it. Thanks

You've got a pretty good drain on the battery sounds like. The only way I know how to trace it will take a little time. And you will need an amp meter (or multimeter). You will disconnect the positive terminal of the battery and then put the meter in series with it. It will show you whatever amount of current that is being pulled from the battery. There is always going to be a little from the clock, alarm, etc. but very little.

Now one by one, pull the fuses out of the fuse box and watch for current drop each time. Sooner or later you will have 0 current draw. Chances are most of the draw will disappear with a single fuse. That's the circuit you will need to troubleshoot further. If I were a betting person, I'd say it's your stereo.

There may be easier ways to check for current draw but I can't tell you how to find it out.
