I have a 2008 Tahoe LTZ and I'm looking to change up the look on it a little. I currently have the bowties painted red white and blue (seemed like so much better of an idea than it actually is. Looks like a French flag). And the tail lights are tinted with 2 coats of night shade. I thought the lights would look decent and I'm not entirely against them, but they look nig on my car. I was curious to see if anyone had taken their front and rear bowties off of the car completely and painted the metal around the bowtie as well as the bowtie itself. I want to paint the metal gold and the bowtie white. Also has anyone else candied the tail lights on a 2007+ tahoe? Any feed back would be great thanks!

Can't help with most of your questions, but you can't get the "metal" (chrome plastic) part of the front bow tie off the truck without removing more of the grill. The gold part comes off, but the chrome is part of the grill.

Alright thanks man. I feel like it would look very good trying to paint the metal part if it were still on the grill. Do you know if it's possible to get the gold part of the rear emblem off?

The gold can be peeled away from the silver part on the rear, but apparently you have to be careful not to scratch the silver part underneath. Also, if you remove the gold layer, chances are you'll break it while doing it. So, it's usually a one-way deal.
