Any time I put my GMC Denali under a load like going up a hill or step on the gas, you can smell the engine and I don't know why this is or what it could be coming from. I have had all fluids changed no change, and it doesn't smell like burning oil but I definitely don't trust going on a long road trip with it running this way. Has anyone had this issue or is having this issue? 07 all wheel drive GMC Denali.

define smell the engine?
exhaust smell-fumes
coolant smell
rotten egg type smell-sulfur like
burning plastic smell
any of those would mean either a exhaust leak, coolant leak, catalytic converter burning up or electrical short.
only other option would be burning oil which you stated it isn't.
