I have an 08 Tahoe with the 5.3l engine and I noticed the bottom was wet with oil. I took it in and they replaced the oil pan gasket. We still have about 6 months left on the power train warranty and it was covered. It only has 17900 miles.
So if anyone has a oil leak take it in before the warranty expires. 5 year or 100,000 miles. I almost let it go until it got worse.

So is it fixed? If fixed clean your engine as soon as possible or it'll bake on I recommend gunk engine cleaner btw

I just took mine in for an oil leak. They replaced a valve cover gasket, no biggie. Since it's new to us, I asked for the service records. It went in for an oil leak two years ago, which was the oil pan. Then it went a few months ago because the cam got roached after the DOD lifters failed...I'm guessing this is when they didn't correctly install the valve cover gasket. The beauty of warranty!
