Hey all, 08 Escalade with 36k miles. Here's my deal. I'm not getting much heat!
If I set my heater at 80, I get lukewarm air for 10 minutes maybe. Turn it up to 82, 10 more minutes. Basically I have to keep dialing it up to get sustained (half) warm air. Sometimes the air coming out is almost straight up cold.
I took it to a Chevy dealer. They told me it's normal; there's a temperature sensor in the cab and the system does whatever it has to do to keep the cab temperature at whatever it is set on. Sounds good- if I had it set on auto. I've never used the auto button. All this happens when the system is under manual control.
I don't know how this could be connected, by my heated steering wheel does the same thing. It's nice and hot at first, then it's hardly warm after 20 minutes. Any ideas? Thanks.

I should add- my engine temp gauge runs right in the middle. I haven't tried the rear heat to see how that behaves but I will when I get a chance.
