Thinking out loud cause I'm bored and looking for things to tinker with ...

Have a look at this pic of the esky interior:

Mine is the same color:

So I was wondering how it would look if I 'borrowed' some interior trim elements from the esky like the sail trim inside the mirror, the leather bit above the door switches, and the handle surround piece.

Basically color matching the front and rear door elements to the rest of the leather like the esky has.

I know why it is the way it is on mine ... it's to follow lines of the cocoa dash along the sides of the truck, so I guess that's why I'm asking.

So, what do you guys think?

Those would be some nice subtle mods. Not sure if the colors will match though.
You would have to buy the whole front door panels for the leather two tone door panel though. The mirror mount trim and handle trims can be bought for pretty cheap.
I have always wondered if the console lid of the Esky can fit the Tahoe/Yukon center console.
It would be a nice mod.

I'm lost as to why you guys think it's an ugly mod.
The only thing is it may not be worth it due to the minor changes the handle and mirror trim make.
Then again, there are a lot more "Escalade replica" mods on here that are not worth it to me. :hands:

I think it's ugly because it doesn't flow like the Denali. The Denali interior has a nice flow with the two tone.

Secondly, but swapping out the upper panels, it will require new interior door handles since the Denali and Escalade do not share the same handles. Now, due to the fact that the Denali handles have the heated seat controls integrated into them and the escalade ones do not, he would have to relocate the heated seat controls elsewhere inside the vehicle. This also would create a problem with the electric wire harness inside the door since the Denali one has the wiring for the seat controls in it and the Escalade one does not.

The other issue is that the upper leather piece is not a separate part number. You would need the entire door panel unless you find a salvaged piece.

Only option would be to have an upholsterer match the leather and do the insert. I personally like the darker leather on the top as its were most folks rest their sweaty arms on the door when you are driving.

Mmm that does seem like an ordeal. :)

Maybe I'll just get the little sail triangles and the plastic trim around the handles to test out the two tone effect.

Or just swap out for esky doors lol.

Swapping to escalade doors will still require a new door harness and you would also need to relocate your heated seat controls. Been there, though about it, had the doors and all... Just wasn't worth it.
