Escalade leveling kit and the need for a strut spacer??

I just added a 1.5" lower spacer on my '07 Escalade so it sits level. The kit came with a strut spacer(maybe 1/2") that I did not install. Those with lower spacer kits, did you install any kind of upper strut spacer(looks like 7-8 spacers stacked)? With the lower spacer not affecting the strut/spring, to me it didn't make sense to add the spacer.
