I've added the OBS Esky/Denali console into my 1997 two door and now I want to actually use the sub that's built into the console.
I have the stock GM radio(non Bose) and some upgraded speakers which sound fine to me. Just want some added bass.
Also since its a two door, I have no amp from the factory driving my door speakers.

I believe I recall reading that the esky/denali sub needs a 1 ohm amplifier.
Thinking about having a single channel amp added to use the stock sub; does anyone know if this product will work Kicker PX200.1 mono channel amp?

If not appreciate any input on how to keep the stock dash radio and power this stock sub.
Thanks

I'll preface this by telling you that I know nothing specifically about the console sub, but I do know a few things about audio.

Presuming your information is correct about the impedance, you need an amp than is capable of driving a one ohm load. Most amp can drive a load higher than they are rated for (4 ohm amp should be able to drive an 8 ohm speaker) but go lower than it's rated impedance and if you're lucky you'll start blowing fuses or tripping a thermal breaker. If you're a little low on luck you could easily completely toast the amp. This is particularly important when working with lower sub frequencies. Here is a link to a bunch of one ohm stable amps:

http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&page=1&rh=n:10980751,p_n_feature_keywords_browse-bin:5556867011

You'll note that many of those amps seem to be pushing a lot of watts into a one ohm load. That could be a problem for you as generally speaking most factory equipment is designed to produce as much sound as possible using as little wattage as possible (cheap factory amp, cheap factory speaker(s)). You could very easily tear the factory sub apart with the wattage the aftermarket amps claim to be pushing. Keep in mind that while you can usually attenuate the input to the amp, the output potential is still always there.

If you can find out the specs on the factory sub, you may be able more closely match an amp to its requirements. You will probably need a speaker level input on the amp to get a signal it can work with. You can also buy a speaker to line level converter device if the amp you want doesn't have it. Also be sure that the amp has a low pass crossover in it.

Thanks for your input.
Going to do this in very basic steps.

First step is I need to confirm the Esky/Denali sub needs a 1 ohm amp?
Anyone??
Thanks

i'm using this wonder sub in my console it is 1.4 ohms i got the mtx 300@1 ohm rms class d
amp i got the LP filter dialed at 100 hz. i wouldn't go over this 300 rms sinse theres no specs on this sub. If your gonna use the factory radio don't get a cheap line level adapter

it won't last with that 1 ohm stable amp. also stuff the sides of the console it will rattle
