It's a little off topic but I just picked up a trimmer that I had repaired under warranty because it was running like crap.
Then repair folks were going ape about not running any ethanol blended fuel in any 2 stroke engine. They had several different flyers on the counter and signs everywhere. They said that about half their repair work was due to ethanol in fuel.
In my case, they replaced the carb under warranty (Stihl) but gave me a lecture about the fuel that was in it.
My reply was that, yes, I knew this was a problem but nobody around me sells straight up gasoline anymore, what am I supposed to do? They offered to sell me some pre mixed gas/oil for $10/quart.
I went home and searched on line for ethanol free fuel and found a station that is reported to have it about 20 miles away.
It wasn't that long ago that many of the mid grades and premiums were ethanol free. Now, it is hard to find.
What are we going to do when they start selling 15% ethanol fuel (E15)?
