So I brought my truck(2001 tahoe LT) in due to a CEL. Turns out its an emissions EVAP code, and that my vapor canister is cracked. That, and I believe the vent valve solenoid(?) was bad. I found a replacement vapor canister but I'm not sure if that is the OEM part. It says so in the link but the shop told me to double check.

Is this stuff even useful/necessary?? Is there anyway around me replacing this shit for close to 400 bucks!? How hard would changing out the canister and solenoid by myself be? Any advice would be greatly appriciated!

Oh and FYI...I am due for an emissions inspection so that has to be in line..

depending on your engine vin code and manufacture date, it will let you know the specific model, (2 hose connections, or 3) mine went on my yukon and there was a 150 buck difference between the two, i did tons of research to figure out i need the expensive module but the my check engine light went off an d have had no problems since. (weird)
