Pulled code for evap circuit vent malfunction. Would this prevent the truck from starting? 2000 tahoe 5.3l

Shouldn't have anything to do with a no start condition. All EVAP does is take the fuel vapors from the tank, store in a canister to be burned later through the intake or throttle body. Chevys are bad about EVAP problems but I've never seen them cause any running problems, much less a no start.

Typically the EVAP vent valve is sticky from debris/dust getting into it. There is a TSB for an updated vent valve and filter kit and I have installed many to correct this issue.

EVAP can prevent the engine from starting, but only if the purge line was flooding the intake manifold with fuel vapors....not likely, but it does happen rarely
