Hey guys,

So I had been contemplating get rid of the Limited, but have reconsidered. Instead I'm going to put a little bit of money back into it. One of the things I"m going to get going is the steering. I'm going to do the EVO bypass and get rid of that. Couple of questions:

1 Does the PS Pump need to come out of the car to put that on?
2 Would it be better to do a 96 and earlier PS pump and pressure line?

Thanks for the help guys.

GM actually developed a kit to replace the EVO valve on the backside of the PS pump; I may have one in my garage if you need, let me know( I went to Hydroboost and didn't use it)

You can easily install this kit while the pump is still in the car and no new hoses are needed.
If your pump and hoses are still good then this is the most cost effective way.
If your pump and hoses need replacing anyways then you're better off with a Pre-1996 pump and high pressure hose(one less connection than teh EVO bypass kit to possibly leak)

Just go to the junkyard and pull a pressure house and the firing that goes in to the pump Evo gone!

Tbruz,

I was going to pick up the kit to bypass it. Looks like you can get it on ebay for about 50 bucks, but if you are selling yours, I would much prefer to buy from a member here shoot me a pm, or email. Same screen name as here but at gmail

Rmodel,

The kit does the same thing, and I don't have to go to the junkyard, which isn't convinient to get to.
