I have a cutout on my 08 Sierra. Its great for SOUND... but no difference in performance. I ran it on the track with the cut out open and closed and I got the same time.

If your gonna do a cut out go with DHM. They make the best. All there others break or dont close all the way.

I would love to have the option to run straight headers or mufflers....the cut-outs are illegal here.

unless you want sound, IMHO, waste of money

so theres no performance gain even from a stock exhaust? that doesnt sound right to me.

Not really, you lose alot of back pressure and low end torque. It not great on a stock motor.

im not planning on leaving it a stock motor i can only upgrade piece by piece because, well, im 18 with a part time job. i figured i would start with the exhaust and ive always loved the idea of a "loud botton" maybe if i didnt run straight pipe out of them and just put a cat to add some back pressure?
