Hey all
MY 02 has a flowmaster system on it with the single tailpipe. I believe it is 3 inch and its a cat back system. Dam thing rotted on the tailpipe right where the hanger attatches. Does anyone know if this pipe is available seperately or do i have to get a whole system? I really dont have the coin to buy a 400 dollar system. Plus , I like the way this sounds. . . . minus the rattling and the leak. thanks in advance for any guidance.

I would contact flowmaster to see if they sell it separately or you could go to a local shop and see if they could make a new one for you.

Flowmaster contact info.

I'm with Anthony but you gotta save some coin cause you'll be one lucky SOB if you find a sport for $400

You are saying the tail pipe after the muffler is rotted right and the hanger is busted? if so take it by a muffler shop and have them cut and re weld some new pipe and a new hanger. its that easy should be no more then $50 bucks!

I am pretty sure they can fix it, I am just disappointed that the system is less than 2.5 years old and its rotted already. I can't say that I baby the truck though and it only has 53k on it. I thought it was a small leak and just needed to be tak welded at the pipe joints. Today i glanced over from the driver side and there was this big hole. I towed a car 50 miles the other night and the little leak got alot louder. I was also just figuring if a new cat back was cheap (yea right) i would just do that. Its not the end of the world, but the truck got to sit there and watch me work on my impala today. lol

That's no uncommon for Flowmaster, they use cheap metal. They fall apart pretty quickly. If you don't have the money for a new system, find a reputable exhaust shop and have them weld it back up. Shouldn't cost much at all.

After crawling under the truck and taking a real good look, the intermediate pipe as well as the tail pipe both have big holes at the hangers. I have always heard this about Flowmaster. Ill see if a shop will weld it up, if not will just have to bite the bullet and grab a cat back. (not flowmaster) I am sure the muffler isnt far behind with rotting.
