okay here in arizona recently its been getting to an outside temp 105+ on a dialy basis ive already cooked the battery negative wire the sheeth melted in one section and turned black and ruined the wire now im wondering should i heat shrink all the wires or go get some more welding wire wich has a sheeth thats really heat resistant

WOW 105 we never see temps like that. Not sure what you guys do in the summer does it cool down at night? I never knew guys are using welding cable till I started reading some audio thread's, guess it's cheaper? I just buy audio grade wire myself. Your not the only one running a system in a hot climate, maybe you have other issues.

I have had no problem with my Rockford Fosgate 1/0 big 3 in the 105+ weather here in El Paso. Pretty much same climate as you. I also have a second battery in the rear of my burb with 1/0 cables with no prob.

i have only seen cheap wiring have the melting problem!
