My air box seems to move around a lil bit should there be any play? If not what should hold it down?

Mine also moves around a little bit. I think it's normal to a certain degree.

Hm I'll check my Silverado and see what that ones like cause if I recall there's no play in it

I took out my box completely this summer, including the lower metal mounting plate, trying to fab up something, which didn't work out. I bolted everything back in, nice and tight. The other night I was cleaning my maf, and I grabbed my air box trying to move stuff around, and the box did have some play in it. Nothing crazy but wasn't solid.

If I remember correctly, the lower part of the air box is mounted to the lower metal mounting plate with rubber bushings, which would cause the movement you're talking about.

You could replace those bushings, there are 3. May take some of the movement out of it but mine did the same thing before I switched to a CAI.

Where did you find the bushings? Can only find the whole box online

They are like part of the metal tray I think. There are two rubber bushings/grommets that pop straight in and a third bushing that slides into place. I don't see them separately online. And I honestly don't know if they come with the box or the tray.

Personally, I'd just leave it alone. If it's not causing you any issues or heartache.

The air box is hitting the tranny cooler line barely but rubbing it a tiny bit
