i was looking for the factory amp and think i found it but i'm not sure. is it the silver box under the driver seat under the carpeting?

i currently have the carpeting ripped up due to a water leak and saw the silver box under the carpet. in the future i plan on wiring in the rear roof speakers to a 4 channel amp with the rear door speakers and around into the factory amp.

And how much power does that little metal box put out? I found mine in my 96 under the driver's seat clipped to the seat rail. Either way, what's stopping me from putting a bigger amp right there, and running lines to the far back speakers as well? Anyone have any idea on the specs? It might be worth it just to by-pass it if you have a decent aftermarket deck. Any ideas guys?

Sorry to bring back an old thread but would the location of the amp given in the top post be the same location of the amp in a 2000 Chevy Tahoe Z71?
