Factory HID brightness.

So the OEM bulbs to me aren’t that bright and the color temp was low. Replaced them with 6000k d3s bulbs and they look nice but of course no increase in intensity.

I have an old 2006 f150 and a 2006 gto both with halogen headlights I replaced with LED bulbs and both those cars are much brighter than the Tahoe.

I see that they make d3s LED bulbs. Has anyone used them? Kind of disappointed because I thought HID would be the best.

and yes my led bulbs in the other cars are aimed and they have a great cutoff. Using a good brand.

Once you get out of the 4000 temps you start losing output, but the look of the lights are much better. A year ago one of the 4 wheel mags did a test on the best HID replacement bulbs, the number one rated was Osram Night Breaker Laser Xenarc, I installed them and they work good, but the best increase I have found is putting LED's in the highbeams, and the foglight bulbs I got on amazon LED's also are so bright you won't belive it, do a search there are a few threads on them. If I burn out an HID I would think of switching to LED's for the lowbeams too, I have VLED highbeams. FWIW

Yeah I have LED's in the highs and fogs, and they seem to be brighter then the HID. All of them are 6000k. I guess LED's have gone a long way. Back a few years ago HID was king......

They have D3S LED bulbs on amazon, but was hesitant to try. They advertise 2-3 times the lumen output of a stock D3S bulb, but who knows. Maybe I'll wait for a name brand company to make these D3S LED's, they are all China ones now.

Can't even find any reviews or video's yet on D3S LED's............
