Getting closer to winter which means some mean trips to the woods, and I would hate to run into a boulder or a stump underneath the powder...

Did the hoes come with factory skid plates? Part number?

If not is there a good aftermarket one that you'd recommend that won't break the bank

Hit up your local junkyard, any full size truck or SUV from GM will be a viable doner for you and I'm sure they could be had cheap. Make sure to get the bolts with them.

I'd say that those are a good junk yard item, I have them on mine. The front plate is only plastic though. I think they were more of a protection from road debris or rocks than they are an actual skid plate.

The junk yard was my choice. The front diff plate and bracket plus the transfer case plate (no bracket) were $35 as I recall.

Look for truck that are the Z71's they came with them. I bought a set off a guy on Craigslist for $25, but he didn't give me the bracket for the front skid, so i had to order that for another $25 shipped from a GM dealer. but they are a heavy piece of aluminum and the truck have the holes already there for them
