Faint Rumble While In Traffic In Gear?

i'm more of a lurker than anything here but here goes.
I currently drive a 2016 Yukon with the 5.3L and noticed a faint rumble or slight vibration while I was in gear in stop and go traffic. I went to the dealership and I was told this is normal behavior from this and all previous generations.

Any input would be appreciated.

I get the faint rumble also in traffic on my 2016 Tahoe LT with the 5.3 but do not notice any vibration..I figured the slight rumble is just a truck thing.

I assumed so as well since my family also owns a 2004 yukon that has a more noticeable rumble than this one. Doesn't hurt to be curious, I suppose. I do believe the AFM system is the culprit here though.

After reading your post I wanted to see if that was truly the cause of it. I went ahead and kept the car in gear in stop and go traffic. It remained in V4 mode for a minute or so before going back to V8 mode. It only returned back to V4 mode when I got on the freeway and started driving at a steady pace. I retested it a couple more times and each result was a bit different but the faint rumble was there. Overall, I think you're right as I felt the engine rumble as soon as it reactivated all 8 cylinders.

tl;dr When going from V4->V8 in stop and go traffic (while in gear) faint rumble appears (sometimes more or less noticeable).
