Fender flares

Bought my used '97 Tahoe 4 dr.. Has 139,000 miles, so it has some gremlins, but they're mostly fixed.....new serpentine belt, shocks, etc..

Being a Michigan vehicle, there is some rust around the rear wheel wells, and I'll get that fixed later this summer. However, to prevent recurrence after the repair, I'd like to find some good quality fender flares to cover the area around the rear wheel wells.

I've seen some on Tahoes and Suburbans; anybody know where to find these? My truck is black so black equipment is fine.

Would appreciate any recommendations.

Junkyard or Craigslist to find people parting with thier vehicles. If you feel like spurlging then buy new Xenon's.

I agree, the stock flares on these are great, especially the wider ones like i have (see pic in my sig). As for the rust, fender flares aren't water tight, in fact, due to the way they mount(screws on the edge of the wheel well) the only thing keeping them flush is pressure. You'll still get water in there and itll sit there, possibly worsening the issue

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but aren't the only 4 doors with fender flares the z71 models? Other than that, you might have to go aftermarket which are $$$.

No, they were an option on all of them. I have them on my SLT 4x4. The best place to get them is probably going to be the junkyard. Make sure you get them from a 4 door tahoe/yukon since they're in two pieces unlike the 2doors and 'burbans.

I've got the Xenons but bought them used. The factory style flares look cleaner around the wheel arch at the rear door IMO
